Tasty

This is pretty standard instant tteokbokki to me. I've never tried this specific kind of instant, normally I get the pre made ones that require actual cooking to finish up, but these were just about the same and a lot quicker. The actual rice cakes are nice and chewy, though smaller than the ones I've had before. I don't really have any complaints about the product, though I do wish the sauce was a little more flavorful. It's sweet like I would expect, but the taste isn't a rich as it could be. That being said, this is instant tteokbokki so it's pretty in line with what you usually get with this type of product.

Convenient, flavorful

I've never had something like this before so I was curious. I can't compare it to what something would taste like homemade, but I can say that flavor did come through strongly. The rice cakes were dense and chewy, and more bland on their own, while the 'seasoning' added a fair amount of the flavor.

I'd say these are similar to those cup noodle type of things, and are convenient and work well enough as a meal. They also have high sodium, as these type of meals usually do.

Made a Mess, But Nice Basic Snack

Tteokbokki rice noodles are a very low cost kid-friendly Korean snack. As with many imported items, the price is not so pleasant. This brand boiled over and made a mess in my microwave, so watch out for that. Also, know that this is more of a little snack serving unless you add something like eggs, meat, or vegetables to flesh it out.

The noodles are chewy without being hard to chew, although not the fluffy texture of freshly boiled. I really like the sweet soy sauce flavor of this flavor.

If you haven't had tteokbokki, this is a nice place to start. The classic basic flavor is there and it is easy to make apart from the mess.

Authentic, Microwavable, Korean Yopokki Halal Tteokbokki – Sticky Mess with Taste

There is no accounting for taste, however, I appreciated this Halal certified [no alcohol and no pork] noodle shaped [hard – but not impossibly tuff and chewy] rice cakes that was more, to me, sweet, rather than spicy. Picture them the size of cut green beans in terms of size and shape, with that exceptionally dark [sweeter tasting] sauce. These are simple to make, 20ML of water and [1K] microwave for two (2) minutes and voila – 짜잔 Jjajan, an instant, fulfilling hot meal that has body and taste.

Filling
Common street food
Simple texture

Value?
Hmm, for my wallet, more on the premium side. But this is unique and authentic.

Korean Tteokbokki has been a Korean staple for decades, commonly found as a spicy hot street food. I like mine not so much with pure hot type sauces, rather, with soy and a dash of teriyaki sauce; I have added soft boiled eggs, sesame, scallions, sliced water chestnuts, carrots, a tad of garlic. There is no accounting for taste, however, I believe it’s all the added ingredients which makes this a tasty filling, hot, dish.

I received two (2) paper cartons, each at (140) grams. I thought these were worth a try. Very helpful in my efforts at providing a somewhat quick meal for the table and diversifying the menu. I liked them.

I hope my thoughts added information.

Good Flavor- Fast Preparation

I followed the directions indicated on the package. The sauce had good flavor and the rice cakes were kind of chewy. The serving portions were kind of small and I was still hungry after eating it. I let my daughter eat the other cup, and she didn't care for the texture of the rice cakes. Both cups were well sealed and the preparation is very simple and fast.
