They were delicious but not spicy. Which is great as my child was able to enjoy them.
I love these things and the portion size is great and well worth the price
When usually eating tteokbokki I always expect it to have some sweetness to it, so it is nothing out of the blue. There is no spiciness to this flavor and the thing that I did not expect it to be was that it is super sweet (to my taste). My recommendation is to add more ingredients to the dish and not eat it by itself. I ate it with some ramen, eggs, and some vegetables.
I’m a sucker for anything buttery or sort of imitation onion-y, and also a sucker for tteokbokki so naturally when I saw this I had to jump at the chance to try it. I’ve never had shelf stable tteokbokki before, only fresh. But I’m not particularly afraid of how the texture might be different from fresh tteokbokki. These are very nicely chewy, the sauce was a bit sweeter than I expected, but this isn’t uncommon in Korean cuisine. Definitely not overly sweet though and I love the onion-y flavour, not overwelming either imo. I sort of wish there was more of a buttery flavour but it’s not a huge deal. If you’re not careful with heat levels, stirring and timing these are sort of easy to overcook and get stuck to your pan. I would absolutely purchase this again and recommend it.
I love the taste and its not spicey well to me its not! I actually cook it a little longer and add a little more water to it cause I want a lot of that sauce and I want the thick rice noodles to be more tender. I just added some got dog slices and wow it was so good. I recommend!!
