[MUI Halal] Hot Spicy Tteokbokki 2 Cup Rice Cake 🌶️🌶️🌶️

A product of South Korea this set includes two individual cups of Halal Spicy Yopokki rice cake snack is good tasting and satisfying. Preparation is similar to ramen cups—add rice cake pouch and sauce to cup, add 20ml of hot water and stir well. Then partially cover the cup by placing the cover on at an angle which prevents splattering. Heat in a microwave-–2 minutes in a 1000 watt oven or 3 minutes for a 700 watt oven. My oven is 1000 watts and using the 2 minute setting the dish was perfectly cooked.

The rice cakes are deliciously soft, gummy and chewy and the sauce has a complex barbecue flavor which is a little smoky and sweet with a relatively high level of heat from the chili spice. These things are subjective and I am not adverse to spicy heat and this dish as definitely mouth burning which continues for a few minutes after eating. To estimate shelf-life at the time of this review In September 2023 the Best By date is 9 months in the future but dates will vary. Excellent and tasty snack.

Whew! They weren't messing around when they said Hot Spicy. I like spicy food in small doses and thought this would be like other tteokbokki I've tried, but this was way hotter. There is heat, but I can still taste the flavor of the sauce, it isn't just all hot. Preparation is simple in the microwave, I have a 900w microwave and prefer to cook mine for about 4 minutes to have a thicker sauce. If I reordered these I don't think I'd get the Hot Spicy version again, but if you like the heat these are tasty.

Yopokki Instant Halal Tteokbokki Cup is a quick and easy way to make a delicious and spicy tteokbokki without having to dirty any pots or dishes. The order includes two 140g containers that hold a sealed plastic packet of cylinder shaped rice cakes and a foil packet of spicy sauce. To make, you just need to add 20ml of water (or to the green marked line on the cup) and then add the rice cakes and sauce, stir well and partially cover the cup with the accompanying lid, and cook in the microwave for 2 min (1000w) or 3min (700w). I wish the water measuring line was available on the inside of the cup with an indentation. I hope the manufacturer considers changing this detail in future cups. I think I may have added too much water as the finished dish didn't really have a luscious and thick sauce but was more like soup and was watery. I followed the 2 minute cooking time and found that the finished noodles were delightfully tender and had a pleasant chew. The sauce packet held a deep red colored sauce with a bold and spicy flavor that was complimented with sweet notes that reminded me of hoisin sauce. It is delicious straight from the cup but I admit that I added an over easy egg on top to add a little richness to the overall dish. Each serving has 0.7g Total Fat, 80g Total Carbohydrate, and 6g Protein. It is a Product of South Korea. The product that I received has a best by date of 9 months from the date that I received it. I love tteokbokki and being able to make it in 2 minutes is a must have in my house! I highly recommend you give it a try!

I have to admit that I didn’t find these types of chewy rice noodles that appetizing although my wife did enjoy them. The spicy sauce was not too spicy and added a decent flavor to the noodles which don’t have much of a taste themselves. However, I think next time, I will use my own hot chili crisp sauce for a more preferred flavor. That’s a personal thing as you may like their seasoning packet.

One thing to keep in mind is that rice noodles have a lot of carbs and this one small snack bowl has 80g of carbs.

This is a review for the spicy instant tteokbokki cup. The instruction is relatively easy to follow, just put the dry rice cake inside the cup, add the spicy sauce provided, add 20 mil of water to the "green line", then microwave it for 2-3 mins. The so called green line I believe is the one outside the cup as there is no line or any line indication inside at all. The instruction says to use 20 mil of water but I found that seems to be not enough, so I used closed to 40 mil. I also used hot water so if you are using cold water, you might want to add the microwave time accordingly. I used the black color lid that it came with to semi cover the cup in the microwave, but the sauce inside still ended up splashing out all over, created a little mess.

The taste of the tteokbokki is decent, this is just something quick to have. For the spicy sauce, I only used 1/3 of the package and it is already spicy enough for me, and I am usually pretty good with spicy food. So watch out for that.
