Delicious recipe
Place rice cakes and powdered sauce in a container, pour in water, and microwave for 3 minutes on 1000W🍲. Remove from the microwave, cover, and wait for 30 seconds. The texture of the rice cakes will double in chewiness.

This was my first time trying an instant Tteokbokki rice cake. Portions are snack sized and the lid is made of #5 recyclable plastic. I picked up the hot spicy flavor and since I am a bit of a spice wimp, I only used about a third of the seasoning packet. Instructions call for you to add 20 mL of water, but I think I should have added an additional tablespoon of water to offset the lack of sauce so that the rice cake could get to the proper chewy consistency. It was still spicy enough for my taste buds, and my 8-year-old also loved the sweet and spicy flavor. I do think that just having chewy rice cake and sauce is a bit too monotonous for my taste, but it made an excellent base for adding in extra vegetables like avocado or cucumber. My cups were fresh
