Use a lot less water than you think! It says 20 mL, that’s about 2/3 of an ounce.
Has almost a tangy BBQ sauce kind of flavor. The rice cake is good, but more spongey/chewy that I was expecting.
Easy to take with me to the office for a microwave at work lunch. If I bring a side snack as well. Less filling than a cup of noodles.
Overall, I’d eat this again.

I've never had Tteokbokki before! I don't have anything to compare it with.
The rice cakes are like noodles, but there's no hole in the middle. They come in a plastic bag, pretty dry, and you re-hydrate them in the microwave with a VERY TINY BIT of water and the sauce.
The flavor is fine, the sauce definitely tastes like Chef Boyardee Beefaroni, but if the Chef was Korean, but also named Boyardee.
The rice cake cylinders are... quite chewy. Plan on a jaw workout. Maybe this is the way it is supposed to be. If so, I find the dish a challenge to consume.
The flavor is enjoyable, the texture is... interesting and different, and it is fine!
I need to try some OG tteokbotkki so I can really compare it better.
Easy to prepare in the microwave and tastes great! The English instructions are to simple to understand, and I love that this comes in a 2-pack. Try it sprinkled with some cheese and top and mix in with a hardboiled egg and you have a quick side dish or smaller meal. Would order again.
I gave this 4 stars but this is more 3.5 stars to me. The rice cakes were fine, but the sauce is not to my taste.
The original flavor is absolutely delicious. The rice cakes look just like pasta and they have a good texture and chewiness. The sauce is a rich tomato base with a mild amount of spiciness. I don't care for a lot of spice generally, so this was just right for me. I enjoyed this meal so much that I finished the rice noodles and then drank the rest of the broth from the bowl. These are easy to make and are ready very quickly. Mine boiled over at 2 minutes so you might want to start at slightly under that time and add more time as needed. There's enough in the cup to satisfy me for lunch, but one may not be enough for everyone. These two cups are a bit expensive but I like them well enough to buy them again.
